CAT QUOTES

These are Juminbu Approved! ...

"I put down my book, The Meaning of Zen, and see the cat smiling into her fur as she delicately combs it with her rough pink tongue.
Cat, I would lend you this book to study but it appears you have already read it.
She looks up and gives me her full gaze.
Don't be ridiculous, she purrs, I wrote it.
-- from "Miao" by Dilys Laing

"Of all domestic animals the cat is the most expressive. His face is capable of showing a wide range of expressions. His tail is a mirror of his mind. His gracefulness is surpassed only by his agility. And, along with all these, he has a sense of humor." -- Walter Chandoha

"The really great thing about cats is their endless variety. One can pick a cat to fit almost any kind of decor, color, scheme, income, personality, mood. But under the fur, whatever color it may be, there still lies, essentially unchanged, one of the world's free souls." -- Eric Gurney

Welcome to our Welfare section

Cat Welfare - Your Welfare!!!

If you are not an official Breeder then PLEASE Neuter/Spay your cat/kitten for the welfare of all cats. Un-neutered/spayed cats DOES ultimately lead to neglect, abandonment, imense suffering and cruelty.

If you care about cats then cats welfare means peace of mind for you, which can improve your welfare or well-being on a spiritual, psychological and physical level.

Strays worldwide

If you are a true animal lover, and my guess is you must be if you are browsing this website, then you cannot ignore the plight of strays worldwide. You cannot turn a blind eye to the sight of suffering animals you probably have witnessed/will witness on your holiday abroad. For more information, visit the Animal Aid website now: Animals Abroad.

The only way the local government can effectively deal with the overwhelming population of strays is by adopting schemes such as the 'Pet Respect Programme'. Some poorer nations obviously struggle to find funds for that and need help with sponsoring/ donations/ campaigning. For more information go to the WSPA website and read about the: Pet Respect Programme.

Cats and Dogs used in British Research

In 1998, Animal aid produced a report that reveals the secret suffering of cats and dogs used for research in British laboratories. You may think that these laboratories are all company-based?! You would be wrong. You will then be surprised to here that many of these laboratories are in fact based in UK universities. For more information on the appalling use of cats and dogs in UK research visit the Animal Aid site now: Animal Aid Awards for Mad Science 1999. Do abandoned pets end up in such laboratories?

Animal Welfare Bill

The RSPCA must wait until an animal is being cruelly treated before it can take any legal action against its owner. The British government are now aiming to introduce a basic 'duty of care', where anyone who owns, or is in control of an animal, will be legally obliged to look after its welfare. For more information go to the: RSPCA website.

Holiday Animals

Always remember that you can help the plight of suffering animals by: Campaigning and/or Sponsoring or Donating to schemes/organisations that have been set up to help deal with the plight of such animals. Find out about these organisations/schemes in the country you visit for your holiday and help if you can - consider it a moral duty. Can you seriously have no conscience as to visit a country that has an appalling record on animal rights and do nothing/say nothing against that. Either boycott the country in question or have your say. It would be better if we would all make a conscious effort to learn more about all countries worldwide in terms of their animal rights record. Should we even consider buying products from that country if they have such an appalling record?
